The impact of wind speed on
navigation
Wind is a perceptible natural movement of air in the
form of current blowing from a particular direction.
Wind can cause changes on navigation, it can make an
aircraft move faster, slower or change direction.
Motion of the air affects the speed with which
aircrafts move through the air.
The picture above shows the speed of the aircrafts
with different speeds of the air.
The direction in which the plane is pointing as it flies is heading. Its actual path over the ground, which is a combination of the motion of the airplane and the motion of the air, is track.
